Zam-Zam Water

Ija katakan sebelum Ija sampai Mekah, dia berhajat untuk minum air zam-zam puas-puas. Bila dah berada di sana, Ija kata minum sekali pagi dapat bertahan sampai petang. Macamana boleh berlaku?

Ada maklumat saya nak kongsi tentang air zam-zam. Ini saya baca dari majalah Sinar Rohani (terbitan JAKIM) oleh Tariq Hussain ( dia adalah 'desalting engineer - chemical engineer to produce drinking water from sea water) tapi tak sempat nak terjemahkan.

1. Calcium and magnesium salts that content in zam-zam water refreshes tired hajis, but more significantly the water containt flourides that have an effective germicidal action.

2. This well has never dried up. On contrary it has always fulfilled the demand for water.

3. It always maintained the same salt composition and taste ever since it came into existence.

4. Water tastes different at different places. Zam-zam water's appeal has always been universal.

5. This water has never been chemically or chlorinated as is the case with water pumped into the cities

6. Biological growth and vegetation usually takes place in most wells. This makes the water unpalatable owing to the growth of algae causing taste and odor problem. But in the case of Zam-zam water well there wasn't any sign of biological growth.

Soalan saya ; Ija dapat tengok telaga zam-zam?
Telaga zam-zam dah ditutup jadi apa yang dapat lihat adalah saluran air zam-zam sahaja. Ada disediakan disposable cup kalau telangkup belum guna dan sebelah lagi yang terbuka dah maksudnya dah digunakan.

Dalam artikel tu lagi, perigi zam-zam berbeza dari yang lain sebab sumber airnya bukan macam sumber air mata air yang biasa tapi .... the flow of water into the well through the bed of the well was equal at every point...

Prophet Muhammad SWA said: "Zam-zam water is a lavish meal and a great healer", and "Zam-zam water is what one intends to drink it for." Thus it is a sunah to drink Zam-zam water, wash with it and splash it on a sick person.
